Introduction -------------------------------------------------------- This text is stored in a file called DPIUPDATE.TXT. It will be installed into the program directory, so you can read or print it at your convenience. These release notes are provided to help you learn about changes to the software which have occurred too late to include in the on-line manual and help systems. Review the Contents section (next) to see if any of the Release Notes may be of interest to you. -------------------------------------------------------- 2. Contents -------------------------------------------------------- 1. Introduction (prior section) 2. Contents (this section) 3. Enhancements 4. Fixes 5. Known Issues 6. Post-CD Fixes & Enhancements -------------------------------------------------------- 3. Enhancements -------------------------------------------------------- MULTIPLE FAX DEVICES Allow setup of multiple fax devices for simultaneous transmission in File|Communication Settings. In the transmission center, each fax device has its own transmission window. E-mail transmission also has its own transmission window. These devices are capable of transmitting faxes and e-mails simultaneously. This allows users to set up a computer with multiple fax devices, so that faxes and e-mails will be transmitted more efficiently. RESULT LETTER DP Informer will now use the standard DrugPak Result Letter report. Previously, DP Informer used a special version of the Result Letter report, due to prior data structure differences. Since this is no longer necessary, DP Informer has been modified to use the standard Result Letter report. If you have a custom Result Letter report, then Informer will use that report. MRO NAME and VERIFICATION DATE are no longer required to send Alcohol results. USABILITY CHANGES Company Preferences Dialog: Some of the interface labels on the Company Preferences window have been re-labeled to be clearer. A) "List Export Format" has been renamed "File Type". This corresponds to the various file types "PDF", etc. B) "Result List Report" has been renamed "Report Style" The accompanying data-entry field now provides a drop-down list of descriptive styles (e.g. "One-Line List", "Letter Format", etc.) TASK LIST "FIND" BUTTON A Find button is now available on the Task List window. TECHNICAL CHANGES Previously, all Informer reports were stored in a special folder (REPORT_I) because of file-name conflicts with some standard DrugPak reports. Now all of the standard Informer reports have been renamed to avoid this conflict, and they have been moved into the standard REPORTS folder. The REPORT_I folder is now used exclusively to store custom reports for use with Informer. Any such reports should NOT have any of the following names: RESHORT.RPT RESHORT0.RPT RESDATA.RPT DATASHRT.RPT I_RES0.RPT I_RES1.RPT I_DATA0.RPT I_DATA1.RPT RESLTTR.RPT DATABASE UPGRADES To support new reporting file name and folder structure. A) Level 55: Reports in the \report_I\custom folder are moved down into the report_I folder. Some reports (RESHORT.RPT, RESHORT0.RPT, RESDATA.RPT, DATASHRT.RPT) will be renamed with a leading underscore character. The database will be updated to reflect this name change. B) Level 56: References to the standard report names are changed (to reflect the fact that these standard reports have been changed). Old Name New Name --------- --------- datashrt i_data0 resdata i_data1 reshort i_res1 reshort0 i_res0 -------------------------------------------------------- 4. Fixes -------------------------------------------------------- COMPANY PREFERENCES FIND DIALOG BUG A minor bug was fixed in the behavior of the Find dialog in Company Preferences. When two records had the same Company ID and Home Base, the Find window would only find the first instance. This has been fixed, and it now uses the (relatively) new REC_ID field to locate the record. -------------------------------------------------------- 5. Known Issues -------------------------------------------------------- You can keep up-to-date with the latest version of DrugPak by visiting our Update page on the web: http://drugpak.com/dpupdate -------------------------------------------------------- 6. Post-CD Fixes & Enhancements -------------------------------------------------------- 12/18/2003 -- Fixed a bug which prevented the Transmission Center from minimizing properly. -- Solved a problem which had prevented Win NT machines from previewing generated reports by double clicking on the file name in the Task List. 12/22/2003 -- Added counters to the transmission center status bar, indicating how many Faxes and Emails were Sent and how many Failed. It is worth noting that the same task may fail several times, or fail and then succeed later. -- Changed the default behavior of the transmission center to NOT automatically minimize itself. Now the auto-minimize behavior is controlled by a menu-item on the Transmission Center 'Options' menu. -- Changed the behavior of the Generate Tasks routine, to ensure that a valid printer is selected when exporting. 1/4/2004 -- Added profiling to transmission center 1/14/2004 -- Modified generate tasks routine to support custom result letter reports with the file name "RESLTTR*.RPT", with the exception of "RESLTTR.RPT" and "RESLTTR0.RPT". Place your custom result letter in ...\dp50\report_I folder. -- Fixed a bug where settings such as "Cover Letter" and "Email Subject" were being saved with the user name, rather than globally (under the MASTER user name). The Transmission center always reads the settings as if they are global settings. This has been fixed so that when you are in DP Informer Communication Settings, the settings which should be global WILL in fact be saved globally. -- Fixed a bug in the generation routine wherein the "original result letter" format was never being used. Now the generation process will respect the user's "use original result letter" setting. 1/19/2004 -- Allow selection of any *.RPT file for custom fax form. 2/23/2004 -- Allow the same Facts-on-Demand account number to be used by multiple recipients, as long as the PIN is not the same. Previously each account number could be used only once. 2/24/2004 -- E-mail subject is now being retrieved from the correct configuration file. -- Test mode faxes were reported as successful in the Transmission Center if no test fax number was present. -- Unchecking "Send Faxes" in the Transmission Center did not cause faxes to stop sending. -- Added more extensive task logging in the Transmission Center -- Prevented occasional program hangs when exceptions were encountered in the Transmission Center -- As of DrugPak 5.3, some workstation settings became user settings. This was problematic for the Transmission Center because it does not log in as a particular user. All Transmission Center settings are now stored appropriately as either workstation or global settings. -- Repaired a small memory leak in the task generation process. -- Allow selection of any report file as the custom fax report. -- Added long distance dial suffix to Informer communication settings. This number will be appended to every long distance number before dialing. Commas can be used to insert pauses in dialing. -- Corrected a situation in which cancelled faxes were incorrectly marked as complete. 4/1/2004 -- Added support for email encryption. Enter the customer's desired encryption password in the Company Preferences dialog, on the Email Settings page. (Omitting the password will cause emails to be transmitted without encyrption). - Encrypted reports are included as attachments in the email. - The encrypted attachments have the extension *.EEA ("Encrypted Email Attachment"). - Customers can download a free decoder from http://drugpak.com/eea - The EEA Decoder registers itself as the default handler for EEA files. The user needs only to "Open" the EEA attachment, and the EEA Decoder will be launched, prompting the user for their password. The user can then view and save the decrypted reports. - You can set up your own web page with a link to the EEA decoder. However, to ensure that your link always provides an up-to-date version of the decoder, we recommend that you use the following URL in your link: http://drugpak.com/eeasetup - The EEA Decoder is installed with every DP Informer Update. The DP Informer HELP menu includes a link to install the decoder. 5/3/2004 -- Added an option to the "Generate Tasks" dialog: "Auto-Reset Print Engine". Turn this checkbox ON to help reduce memory consumption when generating hundreds of reports. 5/4/2004 -- Recompiled transmission center to synchronize version number with the Informer. 5/24/2004 -- A new option has been added for Result Letters. The MRO signature image can be included on all letters, on no letters, or only on letters for negative results. To use this option, select "Always," "Never," or "Negatives" for "Result Letters - Print MRO Signature" on the DP Informer Module's General Options (Global Settings | DP Informer Module | General Options). The new option only applies to faxes and e-mails that use the "Letter Format" report style. 6/03/2004 -- Protect from accessing an incorrect company fax number.
